Song

This song is closest I ever came to writing a love-song without words. It is dedicated to my partner in life Chris. The first time I played it for him was on Christmas morning, 2004. It is my first composition in an open tuning. I used DADF#AD to get the effect I wanted, with a lot of open strings sounding at the same time.

Recording

Track length: [04:42].
Instruments: Furch D-20-CM.
I decided to make a recording of the piece and make two CDs of it. One to give to Chris for his 43rd birthday, and one to keep in the ForestSounds Studio archives. I also decided to record it in one go, without any editing at all. So if you hear a mistake in the performance, it's all done in the name of spontaneity.
I designed the sleeve of the CD myself and had two copies printed at the local printshop. To my surprise, they did this for free! The idea behind the artwork is that even though your life can be depressing and full of dark and grey, the music is there, full of colour, to cheer you up.
