Da Montagne 12-string Guitar

Wow! What the hell is this?

It's agression made out of wood and steel. That's what it is. Enter at your own risk.

Why do you even want to own such a thing?

After playing nylon and steel strings for some years, I was ready for the ultimate challenge: a 12-string guitar!!! This is what separates the boys from the men. So Frans van Oosterhout built me this great instrument.

Who designed it?

Frans and I designed everything about it ourselves, and I really love the way it looks, feels, plays and sounds. I think this guitar is my most beautiful instrument: there is nothing about it that I am not 100% happy with. And oh yes, the mother-of-pearl inlays around the soundhole and on the fingerboard are simply perfect!!!

So I guess you don't play it a lot?

Not true! It is my most impressive instrument. It is incredibly loud, and I find you get a little tired of all that noise after an hour or so. I play a lot of fingerpicking music on it, and it is a really playable guitar. It is difficult to stay on top of the instrument though, it has a way of being too loud for its own good. I'm still trying to tame it!!! It is strung with light strings and tuned to standard tuning.

Huh? Standard tuning on a 12-string? Please explain!

I had some doubts about wether or not I should use it for open tunings. This would make playing it certainly a lot easier, but I decided that this instrument should be used for as much music as possible, so standard tuning it is...

Can I play it?

Haha, nice try, but no. Just like the jumbo guitar, this one is also off limits for absolutely everyone! There isn't a single scratch on it, even though I play it at least twice a week.
