Song

This song is the first piece I wrote in a Travis picking style. It turned out as a "ragtime blues piece", if such a thing even exists. I wrote it for a former colleage in a period where we became really good friends. He plays the guitar in a way that was totally new to me, a way I would love to learn. Unlike me, he is really into blues and traditional music, and when I got the idea to dedicate a piece to him, I tried real hard to write it in a way that would fit his character and tastes. Not an easy thing for me, because I have a tendency to force my ideas and tastes onto others a little bit. But somehow, with this piece I managed to keep his personality in mind, so I succeeded to keep it uncomplicated, happy, straightforward and positive. Funny thing is, I quite like it myself this way now that it is finished! On a technical level, it is only the speed of the piece that makes it difficult to play. The chords and picking patterns are all very standard. Play it with a grin on your face!

Recording

Track length: [02:44].
Instruments: Furch S-21-CR (lead and percussion).
This is an upbeat song, and the arrangement tries to put the feeling across of musicians simply having fun for the heck of it. Two simple percussion tracks (played on guitars) and a single guitar playing the complete piece was all it took for this track. This is how it was played and how it should be listened to: tapping along with the rhythm and not caring about life too much for a minute or two.
