Song

This simple and gentle song was the first piece I ever wrote, and was written just after my sister got her second son. It was performed during his (and his brother's) baptizing ceremony. The title is Dutch for "night's rest" and refers to the sleepless nights the parents had for quite some time when their children were young. It is best played on a classical guitar, and all the chords should be played as arpeggios. If you play the piece with a positive and gentle attitude it can really come to life.

Recording

Track length: [03:02].
Instruments: Da Montagne spanish (lead), Seagull S6+Cedar (stereo chords).
This is the oldest composition on the album, and I hadn't changed anything on it since it was written back in 1992. On this recording, I added two rhythm guitars, playing the same chords one after the other. This sounds like a stereo delay, which to me suggests the ticking of a clock. This suites the song fine, since it's a lullaby.
