Friends of mine were expecting their first baby, so I was preparing this song for that occasion. Then something strange happened: I was having trouble getting the piece together, but then one night I just set down and finished it in one go. A couple of days later, Henk (the father of Sem) called me to say they had a baby boy. He was born on the same day I finished the piece! Regarding the music, it is pretty straightforward stuff. I normally play it on my steel string Jumbo guitar, it sounds great on its DGCFAD tuning. Perform it as playful as you can: Sem is a very happy little guy.

Instruments: Furch S-21-CR (fingerpicking parts and waltz chords), Da Montagne spanish (melody).
The three-quarter rhythm of this song made it possible to arrange it as a waltz, and that's the way it ended up on the album. Arranging it was difficult because the guitars playing the rhythmic chords sound very corny on their own, but as a whole it makes some sense, I guess.
